Dear Parents and Students,
Due to recent concerns regarding the coronavirus, Gorman ISD will cancel classes March 16-18, 2020 (Monday –Wednesday). For now, classes are scheduled to resume on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
Teachers will be contacting you on Tuesday and asking you a few screening questions regarding student travel over spring break. Please do not take these questions as inconvenient or invasive. They are what the CDC recommends as the easiest way to determine if students have been unknowingly exposed to the coronavirus.
I think that with the information I have right now that 3 days is sufficient; however, if it appears that we need to extend the break, we will do so. It is easier to extend the breaks later on than cancel for too long up front.
I would also like to encourage everyone to monitor your health and the health of your students. If you are running a fever or show other flu like symptoms, please contact your health provider.
Further updates will be issued through the School’s Facebook page and on the School Website. We will also implement the robo-calls when necessary.
